Autumn Winter 2009 / Spring Summer 2010 TRENDS

The hottest shoe trend to hit the runways this season is undoubtedly the thigh-high boots. All over fashion week, these must have items for autumn/fall have been spotted in Rodarte, Louis Vuiton and Chloe, just to name a few. If you want to stand out from the crowd, these heavenly creations will do just the trick.

Mary-kate works this light pink boyfriend blazer
The boyfriend blazer has been a staple piece throughout this year and I’m happy to say that it will continue on into 2010. You can wear it with virtually anything; dresses, shorts, skinny jeans, you name it. You should look for one that is loose enough for you to move in but not big enough that you look like your being consumed. Other than that, blazers are the ultimate versatile piece of clothing that exudes sexiness and confidence when wearing. Go get one!

Leather is no longer only acceptable for bikers. This season the soft, sexy material has been shaped in all forms, including skirts, pants, coats, vests, shorts etc. Showcased by designers such as Christopher Kane, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs, you can make sure adorning this trend will make you look effortlessly chic.

JAKARTA FASHION WEEK: Hottest fashion event of the year!

From the 14th until the 21st of November, the third annual Jakarta Fashion Week 2009/2010 (JFW 09/10) became Indonesia’s hottest fashion event of the year, showcasing new collections from more than 60 top designers.
Held at The Pacific Place Mall Jakarta, JFW is aimed to provide a grand spotlight towards the up-and coming Indonesian fashion industry as well as a vessel in which its talents and creativity can be displayed upon. Run by Femina group, this year JFW proudly presented a very special collaboration between Indonesian designers, Priyo Oktaviano and Sebastian Gunawan, and Indian designers, Tarun Tahiliani and Malini Ramani. This was part of the cultural exploration program it held.
Throughout the week, top designers such as Ali Charisma, Denny Wirawan, Barli, and Oka Diputra exhibited their unique and fresh collections, entertaining fashion devotees to amazement. One of the few lucky ones to attend this event was fashion blogger, Made Adityanandana. “ Watching the Denny Wirawan show was amazing”, he muses.“ The music was loud, designs beautiful, I loved it.” With some 5,000 guests, the event was filled with celebrities, socialites and even more press, which also included foreign journalists. JFW also managed to secure coverage through Fashion TV, which involuntarily puts it in the same level as its Paris, New York, Milan and Tokyo contenders. “ Hopefully the help of all this press will bring the deserved attention to the Indonesian fashion scene” Adityanandana inclined. It’s about time.

New Hair, New You
>> The Pixie Crop
Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes first started this hair trend back in 2008, but it is still going strong in 2009. This look is shorter than both the bob and the cropped bob. Before taking the plunge and cutting off all your hair ladies, make sure you can carry off such a dramatic look, as it is not for everyone!

>> The Bob:
Short and simple, the bob hairstyle has been one of the most favorite hairstyles this season. It’s a great way to renew your style for the upcoming New Year. Chopping all that hair off can also accentuate facial features while making you appear more youthful.

>>Long Hair
Now this is a look that anyone can pull off, as it suites all types of face shapes and body types. Whether in a voluminous fashion, straight and sleek or curly, you can go no wrong with long hair.
